The footballing world was hit with one of the biggest shockers this season – Jurgen Klopp will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. The German was surely not on the list of coaches we expected to leave a big club this season. He is the longest-serving current manager in the Premier League and has led Liverpool to a lot of success in his 8+ years there, but the former Dortmund boss is ready to say goodbye to Anfield this summer because, according to him, he is running out of energy and cannot continue to do this job again and again. Since this news broke, only one question has been on the lips of football fans all around the world, who will replace him? Well, we have some educated guesses here. These are 8 managers who could replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool. The most obvious one is certainly Xabi Alonso. He spent 5 years playing for Liverpool and is loved by the fans, so sentiments are definitely on his side. But more importantly, he seems to be passing his biggest test yet as a manager. His Bayer Leverkusen side remain the only unbeaten club in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season and they look like they’re on the way to break the Bayern Munich monopoly in the Bundesliga. If he indeed pulls this off, he’ll become the first non-Bayern manager to win the Bundesliga since Jurgen Klopp.Sounds like the perfect replacement, doesn’t it?

But then, there’s a possibility that Liverpool would want to go for a more proven Zinedine Zidane. The Frenchman is still without a job, and if the Reds can
convince him to get back into the coaching business, it would be such a perfect match.
Zidane’s Champions League record is impeccable, and surely a club like Liverpool would want a coach who can take them far in Europe’s biggest competition and even win them the trophy sooner than later. And if that’s what you want, who better to hire than the only coach to have won the trophy 3 times in a row? The Merseyside club could also decide to go for a more linear approach and hire a coach who is currently coaching in the Premier League. If they decide to tow that path, Roberto De Zerbi would be a great pick. The Italian is doing great at Brighton and you could say that he’s due a big job now. If the Reds are looking at having a defined style of play for their new era, then De Zerbi might just be the right man for the job.

And if Liverpool really want to snatch a current Premier League manager, they could also consider Ange Postecoglou. Unlike De Zerbi, the Australian actually has experience winning stuff, and he has come into the Premier League and really imposed himself, doing great with Spurs despite losing Lloris and Kane before the season started and also suffering injuries to his major players in the first half of the season.Of course, Postocoglou won’t be so easy to snatch seeing as he just joined Spurs last summer. But this is Liverpool we’re talking about here. If they really want him, they’d probably get him.Another thing Liverpool could do is just straight up replace one German with another. Hansi Flick is currently without a job after having been relieved of his duties as Germany national team manager in 2023.If they can overlook his time with the Germany national team,he’s the perfect fit. This man joined Bayern Munich in 2019 and completed the sixtuple in 2020. Surely Liverpool would love it so much if he could replicate that at their club. But if Flick’s Germany form is too much baggage for them, then they could go with the current Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann. He did well at Leipzig and Bayern before he was unfairly sacked at the latter, so he still has a good record as a manager. He’ll lead Germany to the 2024 Euros after which Liverpool could snatch him up if they really want to.You know what else Liverpool could do? They could just go completely sentimental and hire their former captain Steven Gerrard. He did amazing as manager of Rangers, winning the Scottish Premiership in record-breaking fashion. That season, Rangers finished with 102 points, 13 goals conceded, and not one single loss all season. If Klopp had said he was leaving after this season, Liverpool would almost certainly have given the job to their boy. But right now, even though the club still has a lot of love for him, his stint in the Premier League as coach of Aston Villa makes it a little unlikely that he’ll get the job; but we still won’t totally count him out, you know. He knows
the club more than any other person on this list and that’s not something you can buy.
But us?

We would love the idea of Jose Mourinho returning to the Premier League. More than anything else, we need that drama back! Imagine seeing Mourinho and Pep going head-to-head with each other in the title race just like they did during their time in Spain.Boy would we love that! The Liverpool and Man City rivalry has been peaceful for too long, Pep and Klopp are always hugging on the touchline and even at press conferences. What the world of football needs right now is Mourinho as head coach of Liverpool to bring the spice we have been missing in the Premier League.Mourinho to Liverpool this summer, who says no? Well, you can say whatever you want about Mourinho, but one thing you can’t deny is that the man does know how to win, and with a squad like the one Liverpool currently have, you can bet that a few trophies are guaranteed.Anyway, other mangers who could be considered for this job are Antonio Conte, Luciano Spaletti, Massimiliano Allegri, Unai Emery, Ruben Amorim, Graham Potter, and Thomas Frank.
