1.UEFA Europa League was formed by Union of Football Associations commonly known as UEFA in 1971.

In the beginning, it was a 3rd tier tournament from 1971 to 1999.

After the discontinuation of UEFA Cup Winners Cup, it became a 2nd tier tournament.

2.UEFA Europa league’s initial name was UEFA Cup until 2009.

The name was changed because UEFA president Michel Platini hoped that it will give the

competition more impetus and the value and the fan following of the tournament will increase.

3.At the start, the final match of UEFA Europa League was a two-leg match.

This format was changed to single leg match in 1997-98 season.

Inter Milan and Roma played the first single leg final in that season.

The final was won by Inter Milan.

4.Among all the UEFA trophies, the UEL trophy is the most heaviest weighing up to 15Kg.

Unlike other trophies, it has no handles and its height is 65cm, width 33cm and 23cm depth.

It was designed by the workshops of Bertoni in 1972 in Italy.

Milan.They have won 96 matches.

10.Spanish clubs have won this competition for 13 times which is most by any country.
